Ahh, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Seems like only yesterday I was pulling out all of the nearly two dozen amiibo from my cabinet to scan them on a daily basis. Seriously, who wasn’t? If you had the amiibo, it’s what you were doing. And if you didn’t have the amiibo, you wanted to go out and buy some for the game.
Well fast forward to today and the game is still great. Still being loved and adored and amiibo are still being scanned. Only it is a million times easier to do it! These amiibo cards have been on my radar for a long, long time. I wanted them because one, I have a problem with collecting, and two, even though I wasn’t playing BotW anymore, I knew I would again in the future. Plus, my kid likes to pick it up from time to time so it’s worlds easier for him to use these.
What do they do exactly? Well, they’re amiibo! NFC cards that you use the same way you would amiibo, only they’re the size of average credit cards. So that means you can fit the entire Zelda amiibo collection in your pocket. IT’S THE FUTURE!
Seriously, I wish I had these when I was heavy into BotW. The convenience is beyond anything you can imagine. And the price for the amount of unlockables you get outweighs the outlandish prices you pay for old, no longer produced Zelda amiibo. And that’s coming from a collector like me! Not to mention the art on these is GLORIOUS! I mean, look at them. They’re so well put together and work so flawlessly, I’m surprised they’re not more expensive. There are a few different sets out there in eBay land. Some are small cards, a bit bigger than an SD card, some are the same size of these, and all have different art on them. I am extremely happy with these in particular and adore the art on them, but unfortunately the exact set is not being sold anymore. Thanks eBay! You can still grab similar sets but I can’t guarantee they’re the same ones. These also came with a tin card holder that is ok. It’s a lot bigger than the cards, but it does what it needs to do.
So basically, get yourself a deck of these. The functionality works great, and it beats having to scan a bunch of amiibo every time you need to scan. If you know you’re going to get back into Breath of the Wild, or if you’re a lucky soul who hasn’t jumped into it yet, do yourself a favor and get these, you won’t be sorry.
