IT’S AN AMIIBO UNBOXING!
It’s been so long, I almost forgot how to do this! I almost didn’t do it, but I figured with this whole trying to revamp the blog thing, a new, proper amiibo unboxing was needed. And the Diablo III Loot Goblin seems like the perfect one to do it with.
Ever since it was announced I knew it was something I wanted to pick up. No, not because I am a hardcore Diablo III player, but because of the box!
Hot damn, look at this thing! This is an amiibo packaging, isn’t that crazy?!
I can’t get over how unique it is, and I just freaking love it.
Moving on to the amiibo itself, it’s a great sculpt. The huge sack of gold is being held up by the draining coins coming out of it. Clever way to keep it balanced and it looks sweet. I wouldn’t have minded some more gold coins sprinkled around the base, because it looks rather plain. But still, there’s not much to complain about.
If you’re a fan of Diablo III, and you have a Nintendo Switch, odds are you had this little devil on your radar. And I really hope you did because they seem to have sold out rather quickly. And of course, typical amiibo, they’re going for $75+ right now. I honestly had no idea it had released, despite keeping an eye out for it.
I just so happened to be in a Gamestop and saw two behind the counter. I asked the guy at the register if they were available to buy and he didn’t even know they were back there (he had just got in). Luckily, they were available and I grabbed one. None of us even knew what it did in the game! All other amiibo have functionality to summon a Champion Pack of monsters outside town. But the cashier googled about the Goblin and found out what it did and got very excited at its abilities. What does it do?
In order to scan an an amiibo, first you’ll need to open an amiibo Portal. By default, all characters have an amiibo Portal item available to them in their stash. Activate this item from your inventory to open a Rainbow Portal. Scanning the Loot Goblin amiibo will transform this Rainbow Portal into a shimmering golden portal that will take you to The Vault—the mysterious and treasure-filled realm of the Treasure Goblins and their enigmatic Baroness, Greed.
So apparently, that’s a huge deal! I wouldn’t know because I haven’t played Diablo III yet. I have it on PS4 but never touc–HEY! Come back here! Look, it’s not my fault. God, I need to stop saying that. Ok, it’s my fault. But I just never got into it. I always wanted to but seemed to find other things to play instead of it. BUT! Thanks to Vos, as I mentioned before, he managed to snag me a copy when Walmart had them on sale by mistake on Black Friday. And I’m excited to get into it when I do! Just a matter of actually getting it started.
I can’t wait to play it and use this Loot Goblin amiibo. I know not everyone was able to get one. Did you? Any other amiibo you picked up recently that are now hard to find?
