Another week, another humpday Update! What’s been up? What’s been new? I feel like the weeks are shorter because of this, I’m tellin’ ya!
New on the blog!
MOVIE REVIEW | A Minecraft Movie – I finally wiped the dust off my movie review category. I was trying to get two movies reviewed before today but yeah, so much for that. Thanks, life! Look forward to a different movie review next week though!
I was writing the review and wanted to have some sort of review box. Something with a rating and a synopsis of the review. I found one and it’s cool! When I have time I’ll play around with it to see if I can have it fit my theme better. It sucks I have to jump through so many hoops on the backend to make it work, but I dig it. Do you?
I was doing the final editing of the review on my tablet and messing with said review box. I somehow managed to delete the entire review I wrote up and didn’t realize until I went to do my final check and all I saw was the review box. Thank goodness for WordPress and it keeping a record of every instance you saved your draft because there wouldn’t have been a review for the movie lol.
I’m slacking! For the past week, I’ve had a Switch 2 article in the process of being written. I need to just rip off the band-aid and get it done.
ANYWAY that was all said because while we were there, we experienced Portillo’s for the first time (as you can see in that post). It was freaking amazing and it sucked we had to leave it. Fast forward to a few years ago, and they actually expanded down here to Tampa! We made a few special trips to the west side just to get some Portillo’s. And then they eventually opened up one over by the theme parks. Great, right? Then last year they opened one 10 minutes away. BOOM! WINNING, BABY!
Why am I bringing all of this up?! I mean, besides the fact that it was a rather slow week and i don’t have much more to talk about? Simple. I tried one of their cake shakes! Yeeeeeah, now I have your interest, i see.
They have a famous chocolate cake that is super rich. Well, it’s apparently not enough for some because they throw that sucker in a milkshake. And the other night, i was like heck yeah, let’s go! Hit me, bartender.
Never. Again. It probably wouldn’t have been so bad if the small was actually small. But this is America! Our small is like a medium-large for normal people. But it was just soooooo muuuuuch.
Don’t get it twisted, it was really good. A little weird with the chunks of cake that you’re drinking like a proper ripe fatty. But once you get over that, you’re golden.
You know, until you’re 3/4 of the way done only because you spent money on it and don’t want to waste it. And you’re realizing omg what if this it. What if this super sized, two c’s thicc AF milkshake with a whole ass piece of cake in it is what finally sends me to the great beyond. Not gonna lie, I was worried going to bed! Like the last Humpday Update would legit have been your last! But hey, I’m still here, so I guess I’m alright for now.
Remember last week when I was talking about all the movies coming out that I’m looking forward to? We actually went to the movies twice this past week! A Minecraft Movie, and another one I’ll talk about next week!
It was two because god forbid the brothers want to watch the same thing, and you can’t take one to a movie without taking the other. Getting to watch them though reminded me of how much I missed the theater experience. I’ve always been a lover of going to the movies, particularly opening weekend, where the crowds are most excited for something. Maybe one day we can make it a weekly thing and be semi-normal like the old days where families used to have a weekly trip to the movies.

Oh, that’s right, never mind. Back then movies cost like $7. Silly me.
My god, I remember when movie tickets were like this?? Actual freaking tickets that you wanted to keep. Nowadays it’s just a receipt paper. So damn gross, what have we become?! I miss these tickets.
Something else I miss is the trivia before a movie starts. I feel like they don’t do that anymore. I remember back when I used to work in a theater, movies used to have the pre-show before the trailers. And there would usually be trivia where you can hear the early people in the theater getting all into it. Ahhhh, good times.
Actually have another trip to the movie planned! Star Wars Revenge of the Sith is coming back to theaters for a weekend to celebrate its 20th anniversary! And it’s on my birthday weekend! So, happy birthday to me, I’ll take it as my gift. I’m rather excited for it, honestly. I remember going with the wife and my cousin to go watch it when it came out in theaters opening night. Now I get to take my kids. OMG, I’m old.
Alright that be that! I feel like this was a long humpday update despite it being only about movies and cake shakes.
